§         An Unbiased Opinion - While SMEI has a good working relationship with the materials suppliers, equipment fabricators, testing laboratories and test instrument suppliers, we are an independent entity not affiliated with any outside organization; this means the Client receives unbiased recommendations.

§         A Technical Resource to Supply Information & Solve Problems for the Client - Decisions are easy when the Client has the information needed.  We are a vital resource who brings the Client the technical information, knowledge, understanding, and wisdom required to resolve problems.

§         Someone to Fill Client Technical Service "Voids" - One of our jobs can be to fill the void when you have a problem outside of the expertise of your own personnel or when conflicts arise (for many different reasons, from technical to political) or when the Client simply needs/wants an unbiased second opinion.

§         We want to be a part of the Client Team - NOT a part of your payroll!

§         To Deal With a Final Authority in Materials Engineering - Our Clients call us the "Final Authority" in materials engineering because we can help obtain answers to All of the Client questions pertaining to Materials Engineering.  For questions we can't answer - we know the people who can!

§         Someone Who Works Well With Staff and Outside Personnel - We work well with Client staff and other parties, suppliers, specialists, etc.  We have developed a good reputation because we treat everyone fairly and with respect.  Others share information with us because they know from experience they can trust us.

§         Affordable Services with Good Payback - Our services are affordable and generally have quick Payback.  We keep our overhead low to keep our services affordable.

§         Your Case Will be Handled by SMEI Principal - All technical services are provided by Mr. Oliver W. Siebert, SMEI Principal (or under his supervision), so that the Client can be assured that his/her problems will be resolved by an experienced professional who knows what he is doing.  If he can't handle a particular problem (because of conflict of time, etc.), he will either bring another expert on-board who can, or he will refer the Client to another professional who can.

§         Professor Siebert has the highest level of experience, expertise and professionalism.  He has a good work ethic and in-depth professional [sic] life experience; (over 55+ years) i.e., industrial experience (Carondelet Foundry, Sverdrup Consulting, and Monsanto Company) from 1947-1985, graduate school faculty of Chemical, Mechanical and Materials Engineering at Washington University, St. Louis, Missouri since 1953 - present; consulting business since 1953 - Present.  Married since 1948, he has (helped) raise four successful, college educated daughters, with advanced degrees, has nine grandchildren (three are college graduates with advanced degrees, one married [the other six are undergoing various levels of education with the youngest just two years of age]).  One of his clients referred to Professor Siebert as having `street smarts as well as credentials.'  See "Background & Experience'.
